Final Project
Here is the final project made in Wood Technology for 2016. A shared puzzle with a piece each for each of the Year 8 Girls form Our Lady of Rosary.
Rewarding times
Tewhatewha
A friend asked me to make a Tewhatewha, this is the prototype that I made to try out the shapes and techniques. I am looking forward to getting the native timber to make the final one.
A Tewhatewha was a traditionally carried by a chief in battle and was primarily used as a signalling device, while the chief fought with a patu or mere, it could also be used as a striking or thrusting weapon.
Wheely good learning
The other day I needed to replace the wheels on my skateboard so I took the opportunity to teach some students about bearings and the need for spaces (saved me 20 minutes work as well).

EPro8 Challenge
Eight students went to Hutt Intermediate last week. They had to complete tasks such as making a robotic dog, Tracking a meteorite and building a bridge. The students performed admirably, but just missed out on getting through to the semi finals.
